Three years ago boys’ basketball made a big accomplishment by making it to state and it ended up winning and becoming state champs. The results might have been different this year as the Mustangs were 17-13 after a tough loss in the playoffs against Pearland Dawson. But Coach Green’s high expectations for his team have never changed.
The Mustangs were strong overall, and the same was this year with a team that was ready to lay down the law on how to really play basketball.
“They need to focus on playing together as a team,” Coach Green said when asked about the improvement needed to the team and its roster. “The guys should be helping each other out because it’s not an individual thing; it’s a team thing.”
With these notions in mind and with Coach Green watched as the team improved throughout the year.
This year was completely different from the other years; with our team being made up of young inexperienced players, the team was running with some players who had high hopes, such as senior Chase Middleton, who was a phenomenal power forward, as well as senior point guard Latrell Jackson. The Mustangs can now only wait to see what the future holds.
