In just three short days in the fall, our band went to state and tied for 9th place. They’ve been practicing all year and have been ready for their moment, and when the time came they delivered a spectacular performance worthy of a grand applause.

They were able to go to state because of their spectacular performances throughout the year, like at regionals. They’re some of the most hard working people who attend this school, it was only natural for them to become recognized and have the opportunity to attend the state competition.

“It was fun and I had a great time, I believe we can place higher next year.” said Merlyn Rodan, a band student, tuba. She had fun and believed that there’s always room for improvement. Next year she believes that with enough practice we can be the best in the state.
“It was a great experience and I want to go again next year, but next time we’ll be #1” said a color guard student. When asked she stated that “the ride there was more fun than the destination.”
