While she tries to hide her pain, showing so much love and support for her students, she fights so strong — stronger than any other human in the world. Her name, Mrs. Hunter.

You might know her as an Intense Algebra teacher, but you might not know her true self. This strong woman we have all come to love so dearly is struggling with what 18-percent of women are also having to fight. That is, Breast cancer.

But even through her fighting, she cannot seem to forget about her students or friends. As English teacher Ms. Barnett said, “we love to shop and cook together.” The two love to partake in activities because as Ms. Barnett stated she’s had family members with this disease that have passed and so she has an understanding of cancer and how it can take a toll on her body. But as we all know she is a strong person, a teacher, a fighter, and an inspiration.

“Ms. Hunter is a really strong women that endures a lot, and I think going through this situation and watching her is an inspiration, it really is,” Ms. Sanchez, an assistant principal, said. “She is trying to take on so much that she doesn’t know how to break down and allow others to help her.” But even with all the emotions her friends have, they all seem to find a way to come together as a whole.

Ms. Sanchez and other friends made a support shirt for all of the teachers to wear.

“I love making shirts for support,” she said. “Making these shirts really brought us together and strengthened us to help her in any way possible. The reason they made these shirts is for her to have a constant reminder that she is not alone and she will always have support from her ‘sisters.’”

Through this all, they have all seemed to come as a whole and pray constantly for Ms. Hunter and it has shown in her that any little thing really does help. Whether it’s praying for her every day, to telling her she’s not alone. And as all strong people say, they don’t want us to feel sorry for them.
